Anna Paquin has been cast in a new ABC pilot, Broken, about a Dallas divorce attorney named Gemma, whose life is disrupted by her emotionally damaged sister’s (Charity Wakefield) return. If the pilot is ordered to series, it would be Paquin’s first full-time show since True Blood. In her more than two decades in the business, she’s been telepathic and a mutant, but can she play a divorce attorney? Probably. Girl made hideous Rachael Leigh Cook into a supermodel! She can do anything! (Ugh, those glasses!) Oh, and she won an Oscar. Also starring in Broken are Blair Underwood (as Gemma’s boss) and T.R. Knight. And Reese Witherspoon is an executive producer on the show, which explains why she’s too busy for that Cruel Intentions show.
