2023 MAZDA3 Sedan vs. 2024 Model: What’s New?

October 9th, 2023 by

The Mazda3 Sedan is a compact vehicle long known for its easy maneuverability and suite of technology. With the 2024 model out, how does it compare to the 2023 version? Are they comparable, or vastly different?

Let’s examine the two in the most relevant areas to determine which one is ideal for your commuting needs. While similar, the 2024 model boasts some additional luxury Mazda features — read on to learn about them.

Performance

Both the 2023 and 2024 models come with the available SKYACTIV®-G 2.5-liter turbo engine that delivers 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The brand’s G-Vectoring Control Plus also comes standard with both models for greater refinement and stability.

The base engine for both models is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, though i-ACTIV AWD® comes standard on the Carbon Edition trim. The same goes for the Carbon Turbo and Turbo Premium Plus trims.

Performance specs for both model years are more or less the same. That is, both deliver a seamless driving experience.

Notable Changes

One notable addition is the infotainment screen, which is now available in an upgraded 10.3 inches, with an 8.8-inch screen as standard. This upgrade was borrowed directly from the Mazda CX-50. The 2024 model also now has a lighted USB-G port and wireless charging.

With the Carbon Edition, the trim now comes with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity. This includes Qi wireless phone charging.
