Pluripotent hematopoietic stem cell → Proerythroblast (a.k.a. pronormoblast) → Erythroblast (a.k.a. normoblast) → Reticulocyte (usually spends 3 days in marrow, 1 day in blood) → Erythrocyte (lifespan ~120 days)
