Fans are rallying behind actor Heather Matarazzo after she shared some cryptic comments about her career.
On Tuesday, the Princess Diaries star took to Twitter to vent her current frustrations about her trajectory in Hollywood.
She went on to say that she often looks at rejection as a redirection toward a different path, but yesterday, Heather couldn't help but feel "cast aside."
Heather, whose acting credits also include Welcome to the Dollhouse, Saved!, Scream 3, and Sisters, added that she's not one to complain or express her feelings publicly, but this was something she had to get off her chest.
"I've given my life to acting for over 30 years," Heather wrote. "And am done struggling just to survive."
She admitted that one thing she could really use right now is a "life-changing win."
After sharing her tweets, Heather was immediately met with empathy. Fans not only offered their support, but also let her know she's not alone in those feelings.
Here are just a few of the positive responses:
But this isn't the first time Heather has opened up about how her career has impacted her mental health. In 2017, she spoke with The Guardian about considering suicide in 2009 after a string of failed auditions.
"Most people think that I probably get paid a lot of money. But I really don't, and most working actors don't. I drive a beat-up fucking Prius and I just bought my first pair of new shoes in over two years."
Fans are rooting for you, Heather! And this tweet sums up my feelings perfectly:
