While Girls’ Generation fans were likely rocked by the sudden departure of member Jessica Jung, they at least can hold on to one more video featuring the singer alongside her band mates.
A version of “Catch Me If You Can” — Girls’ Generation’s Japanese single from earlier this year that marked the first release without Jung — surfaced showcasing the original, nine-member lineup.
Based off the girls’ hairstyles, it’s speculated that this version of “Catch Me If You Can” was filmed before Jessica’s still-not-fully-explained departure last fall and was prepped for release later that year. The remaining eight likely re-filmed the video as its final version featured the girls with new hairstyles the girls were seen rocking earlier this year.
Girls’ Generation has announced plans to release new Korean music this summer while Jessica has focused on her fashion line, Blanc & Eclare, but has shared photographs of herself recording in the studio and has promised she hasn’t lost her passion for the entertainment industry.
