To be honest, I’m surprised that I’m the first person to ask this question. It seems that most sites out there are wondering if Paraguay Javelin thrower Leryn Franco is the hottest athlete of the 2012 Olympic Games and speaking highly of her beauty…and assets from the opening ceremony.

To rewind a little bit, here is a reminder of why the world fell in love with Franco.

Leryn Franco at 2008 Olympics

In a pretty unflattering position at the 2008 Olympics, Franco STILL looked amazing and took the world by storm (despite a 51st placing in the javelin throw).

Fast forward to 4 years later at the 2012 Olympic games, Franco is still looking good but in no way at the level she was in Beijing. She recently turned 30 in March.

These pictures are from Franco’s twitter feed, so obviously unprofessional, but acceptable enough that she would send it out to the world.

This isn’t so much a slam on Franco but more of an appreciation of her beauty 4 years ago. Compare it to Michael Phelps’ Olympic career. In 2012, he is still one of the greatest swimmers in the world but he just isn’t as dominating as he was in 2008. Franco is hottness’ version of Michael Phelps, still one of the hottest in the world, just not as dominant as she was four years ago.

Franco will compete in qualifiers on August 7th, so you can see her in live action for yourself.

What do you think?
