although the plate technique utilized by ando is more efficient than horizontal boarding, it presents a particular corner condition where the fixture grid becomes interrupted. BY POURING THE INTERSECTING WALLS SEPERATELY, WITH REBARS RUNNING THROUGH BOTH, THIS ALLOWS FOR THE GRID TO BE MAINTAINED AROUND THE CORNER.
In areas of high seismic activity such as Japan, rebar spacing is required in both the vertical and horizontal direction, spaced at 4’ to provide maximum lateral strength.
