Avatar 3 Should Be Ready by 'Christmas of 25' According to James Cameron

Avatar, the franchise that has mesmerized fans all over the world is all set to receive its third movie installment. However, due to the strike in Hollywood, the release date for this movie was delayed indefinitely and we had no idea about when to expect Avatar 3 to release. Fortunately, James Cameron has just provided the information that everybody has been waiting for.

James Cameron on Avatar 3 release date

Speaking to TVNZ, a New Zealand Public Broadcast service (via ScreenRant), Cameron spoke a bunch about loving working in New Zealand and what it means to be a Wellingtonian. Cameron then went on to reveal that Avatar 3 has reached its post-production stage, and it will go on for a “very hectic two years”. Fans should expect the movie to hit the theatres by “Christmas of 2025’.

Fans will not be too disappointed with this date, considering that Avatar: Way of the Water was released in December of 2022 and two years is a reasonable time for a sequel to come out. This definitely a positive update from the director. Another detail that fans should keep in mind is that the time frame between Avatar 1 and 2 was 11 years, so two years should pass by like a breeze.

A few months ago, we received several updates about the upcoming movie a few months ago, such as scenes for Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 have already been filmed. However, Cameron has also revealed that there will be a big time jump between Avatar 4 and 5. Furthermore, we were also told that the next movie would focus more on the fire Na’vi or the Ash People.
