Actress Lili Taylor, who was nominated for an Emmy for her work on season 2 of ABC’s American Crime, will return for the anthology series’ third season, EW can confirm.

The Conjuring and Say Anything star joins fellow returning cast members Felicity Huffman, Timothy Hutton, Regina King, and Richard Cabral. Huffman, an Oscar nominee, has also received two Emmy nominations for her performance in the series, while King won in the Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category at the 2015 ceremony. Cabral and Hutton previously received Emmy nods for appearing on the series as well.

The series’ upcoming episodes will be set in North Carolina and its narrative will revolve around issues of labor, the economy, and individual rights. Specifics regarding the plot for season 3 (and Taylor’s role) have not been announced.

“John and I are honored that Lili Taylor is returning to the cast of American Crime,” executive producer Michael McDonald said in a press release. “Lili consistently performs with her soul exposed, and we are so blessed that she has chosen to share that gift with us. We can’t wait for the audience to see the physical and emotional transformation she will undergo this season.”

Created by Academy Award-winning screenwriter John Ridley (12 Years a Slave), American Crime premiered in spring 2015. Season 1 focused on the murder of a U.S. war veteran and the racial tensions that resulted, while season 2 followed a young basketball player who accuses members of a private school team of sexual assault.

American Crime‘s third season is set for a midseason premiere on ABC in 2017.
