EXCLUSIVE: Heather Matarazzo is set to star in Stuck, an indie drama about an ER nurse who never met a rule she didn’t break, bend or ignore. The film is being directed by Jillian Armenante (Kittens in a Cage, Fresh Off the Boat) from a screenplay by David Mickel and Heather Turman, who are also part of the producing team. Production gets underway this month with Amir Talai as the male lead.
The story follows Darby Dixon (Matarazzo), a nurse who finds herself in trouble with the law, is subsequently sentenced to 30 days of house arrest and is legally confined to the same house she once shared with her ex-boyfriend who now shares it with his beautiful new fiancée. Turman also is acting in the film.
It will be produced by Stoic Entertainment and Tagalong Productions. Others in the cast include Joel McHale, Felicia Day, Constantine Maroulis and Vivian Bang. Helmer Armenante also acts in the film and produces.
Matarazzo, who burst onto the scene years ago in Todd Solondz’s Welcome to the Dollhouse and since has done TV, film and stage work. She is repped by Insurge-Ent and Mission Entertainment.
